Affiliate Programs
Where to find affiliate programs or more accurately where to find products or services sold via an affiliate program.
The first thing you could do is 'Google' - "affiliate programs" or perhaps a topic you wish to promote - i.e. "jewelry affiliate programs". You should find many listings.
I believe - however - that it makes sense to be a little more targeted. I'll explain in more detail - there are companies which run there own affiliate programs - I belong to Easy-Forex which enables me to promote Forex Training and Trading systems from my Blog / Web http://www.forex.best-info-sites.info.
If I make a sale here then I will get paid by Easy-Forex. If I deal with one of the companies below then I can promote many different programs from many different vendors and be paid by one organisation (English spelling).
This is a real benefit when you are just starting. [I've got $23.96 hanging around in one affiliate program for maybe 12 months because I haven't managed further sales and haven't reached an appropriate payment threshold].
There are several large companies that manage a great number of affiliate programs:-
Clickbank manages all the aspects of sales for in excess of 10,000 electronically down-loadable products from 1,000's of different vendors or publishers. If you follow this link you can browse the marketplace and create an account for yourself.
ShareAsale simialr handles products for 1,000's of suppliers or vendors though these are not necessarily downloadable. If for example you had a travel site you could find products or services to promote at ShareAsale covering car rental, hotel reservations, travel luggage etc.
Amazon is a single Affiliate with 1000,s of it's own products plus products 'transparently' available through your Amazon affiliate link. Amazon has some great tools to help you promote their products - see My Internet Store - as an example of how to quickly build a store with your selected products.
There are many other programs - such as Commission Junction, PayDotCom, Affilate Future and many, many more.
