Twitter Traffic Storm Getting Traffic & Revenue

Notice to Readers

Wordpress

You maybe be new to internet marketing or vastly experienced - either way at some stage you'll ideally need your own website and somewhere to host you website.

I've already sang the praises of Hostgator (see Web Hosting) - so if you don't have a web host then this a great place to start.

You then need to get yourself a domain name - in this case theaffiliatemarketinghub.com is the name of my domain. There are many places to get your domain name - you can even get your first domain name through your web host.

If you've completed the above then you are ready to start building a website. You may have heard of Dreamweaver or Microsoft FrontPage or other similar software systems for creating 'html' pages. Whilst appreciating each has it's own marketplace I now create my new websites as a Blog using Wordpress. You can even start you first Wordpress blog by creating an account at Wordpress though in practice you will be restri9cted in the features that you have available. My Hostgator package enables me to automatically install the latest Wordpress Blogging software (and easily update it).

Once you have a Wordpress blog installed then you can

  • easily select a new template from hundreds available
  • easily add content to your columns. You'll notice on this blog there are columns on the left and right hand side of the page which contain similar information as you move from, page to page. The column content is added by 'widgets' - so very easy.
  • All the page information and drop down navigations is again atomically created by the Wordpress them.
  • Your blog automatically generates an RSS feed which can be published quickly and easily

The real beauty of a blog is it gets listed in the search engines much more quickly than a conventional website (that means more or earlier traffic - which in turn should mean increased revenue!

There are some features on this blog which you can easily see - for example the use of the eBay module. There are other features which lurk behind the scenes - either way I'll provide these software modules are referred to as Wordpress - plugin and there are literally hundreds - many available for free - just navigate from the Wordpress site.

I've listed some of my favourite pluggins - those which help generate revenue - on a separate page. (see Drop down menu)
